David P. Weller

David P. Weller, a partner with the firm, earned his B.S.B. from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Business, University of Minnesota in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1997. He is also a certified public accountant.

David’s practice is focused in the areas of taxation, business transactions, employee benefits and estate planning. David is admitted to practice before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Western District and the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the American, Wisconsin and Dane County Bar Associations and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prior to joining Lathrop & Clark, David worked for several years at a public accounting firm. In addition, David worked as an accountant in industry for a period of time.

David is a member of the Government Relations Committee of Downtown Madison, Incorporated. He is also a member of Downtown Kiwanis.

David holds a BV®* rating by Martindale-Hubbell, indicating a high level of legal expertise and professional reputation, as rated by his peers. He was named to the 2006 and 2007 editions of Wisconsin Super Lawyers (Rising Stars). Selection to Wisconsin Super Lawyers is based on a state-wide peer survey and evaluation.
